Orlando’s hotel pipeline has over 15,000 rooms coming

The Orlando area is among five U.S. cities with more than 15,000 hotel rooms planned, according to industry data tracker STR.

That’s a surge in the number of rooms planned since STR’s reports this spring, which projected 9,904 rooms just a few months ago. Most of the surge is due to Universal Orlando Resort announcing two hotels at the former Wet ’n Wild site with a total of 4,000 rooms.
